Terms and Conditions - Listen, What Can You Hear? Twitter Competition

The Listen, What Can You Hear? Twitter competition is run by STEM Learning Limited (company number 05081097) and Primary Science Teaching Trust (company number 12596629) who are working in partnership to deliver Explorify (“We” “Us” and “Our”). “You” and “Your” shall mean you, the person entering the competition. This is a free prize drawn open to UK residents only, aged 18 years and over and are involved in teaching primary school science.

  1. General
    1. If You enter the competition You are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize detailed on our website (the “Prize”) to anyone in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
  1. Eligibility
    1. The competition is open to adults (18 years and over) involved in teaching primary school science who are resident in the UK excluding:
      1. employees or contractors of STEM Learning and The Primary Science Teaching Trust: or
      2. any person directly or indirectly involved in the running of the competition, or their direct family members.
    2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition. In entering the competition, You confirm that You are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the Prize. We may require You to provide proof that You are eligible to enter the competition.
  1. How to Enter
    1. To enter the competition, You must enter via Twitter by liking the competition tweet.
    2. Then replying with Your answer to the question using the hashtag #ListenWhatCanYouHear
    3. You must also follow the Explorify Twitter account (@ExplorifySchool) so We can contact You if You win.
    4. You can enter as many times as You wish.
    5. All entries must be received by 4pm, Monday 24th January 2022. Any entries received after this will not be considered.
    6. We will not accept entries that are:
        1. automatically generated by computer; or
        2. completed by third parties or in bulk.
    7. The competition entries will be randomly selected using a random generator.

 

  1. Winners
    1. The winner will be contacted directly via Twitter on Tuesday 25th January 2022.  It will not be possible to notify those entrants that do not win. The winner will be awarded the Prize.
    2. In order to claim the Prize, the winner must reply to the direct message on Twitter within a week, at which point We will give the winner a winner’s code.  The winner must contact Explorify@stem.org.uk with their code and their school’s address, so that We can post their prize to them.
    3. We must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, We will send the surname and county of the prize winner and, if applicable a copy of their winning entry, to anyone who emails Explorify@stem.org.uk within one month after the closing date of the competition.
    4. If the winner objects to any or all of their surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, they must contact Us at Explorify@stem.org.uk. In such circumstances, We must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
    5. The winner accepts and agrees that:
      1. the Prize must be taken as stated, it is non-transferable, and cannot be deferred, exchanged or redeemed for its value
      2. no alternate to the Prize will be available.

6.  Our decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

 

  1. Rights and permissions
    1. If We are unable to contact the winner after making reasonable efforts to do so, or the Prize is unclaimed after one week of Us notifying the winner, then the Prize will be deemed to have been forfeited, and We reserve the right to offer the Prize to another random selected qualifying entrant.
    2. In the event that You are a winner, You accept and agree to the following in relation to the Competition:
      1. To participate in any publicity planned by Us, if required; and
      2. We may announce that you are a winner via Explorify and other STEM Learning / Primary Science Teaching Trust twitter accounts, stating your Twitter name.
  2. Liability
    1. If an act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which are beyond Our reasonable control and which prevents Us from complying with these terms and conditions, We will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing Our obligation.
    2. We do not accept responsibility for system errors or other issues that may result in disruption to, lost, delayed or not received entries, winner notifications or prizes.

 

  1. Personal Data

We will only process Your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy. See also paragraphs 4.3, 4.4 and 5.2, with regard to the announcement of winners.

  1. General
    1. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Twitter. Entries which do not comply with the terms of use of Twitter shall not be considered. For further information, see www.twitter.com/tos. 
    2. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, We may, at Our sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude You from participating in the competition.
    3. We reserve the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.
    4. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
