Explorify Art Competition exhibition
The Explorify Team were excited to display entries to the Explorify Art Competition at the York Festival of Ideas.
Explorify Art competition entrant with their highly commended art work.
Here at Explorify HQ, we were excited to receive so many brilliant entries to the Explorify Art Competition. We were so impressed by the creativity and science knowledge demonstrated by the artworks.
Therefore, we were thrilled to be invited to exhibit some of our top entries at the York Festival of Ideas Research and Innovation event. Our judges had a difficult job narrowing down the entries, but eventually chose twenty artworks, including our winners, that we believed deserved to be 'highly commended'. These highly commended artworks were then turned into an exhibition, ready to be displayed at the event.
Above, you can see an image of the exhibition, displayed beneath the Sokol space suits at the National STEM Learning Centre.
Each artwork was given its own board, and printed alongside its science description. Below, you can see the boards for the two winning entries.

On the 15th of June, children, families, teachers and local individuals came to see the exhibition, interested in the role of creativity in primary science, or to see their own artwork on display.
The exhibition was a hit! Everyone really enjoyed the event, and we were so pleased to be able to showcase some of the children’s brilliant artwork.
