Every topic has tricky bits that are difficult to explain to children and are often the cause of misconceptions. You may even have a topic that you dread teaching. Our topic guides focus on those tricky bits and provide you with everything you need to confidently teach science in a way your children will really understand.

Each topic guide is split into two parts. Part 1 (Tackle the tricky bits) outlines what the children need to know and provides you with the background science to teach the knowledge and concepts confidently. Part 2 (Explore with your class) suggests ideas for how you might teach the topic in an engaging way, including the scientific skills you can cover, links to Explorify activities and other useful resources.

We hope these guides will have something for every teacher and help increase your confidence teaching the whole science curriculum.
